Matting Policy
If your dog's coat is matted, additional time and charges may apply. We always assess the severity and discuss options with you before starting. Light tangles can usually be brushed out at no extra charge. Moderate or severe matting requires dematting work or a shorter clip for your dog's comfort — we'll confirm the approach and any additional costs before we begin.
Your dog's welfare always comes first. We never force through severe matting — a humane clip may be recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does mobile grooming work?
We come to you in our fully equipped grooming van. It has its own hot water, professional dryer, hydraulic grooming table, and full lighting — so we don't need your water or electricity. Just a parking space on your driveway or directly outside your home. Your dog gets groomed in a calm, one-to-one environment right on your doorstep.
What area do you cover?
We cover Leeds (LS1–LS18), Harrogate (HG1–HG3), Wetherby, Otley, and Ilkley. Some outer areas may have a small travel surcharge. When you book online, we'll check your postcode and let you know straight away if we cover your area.
How long does a groom take?
It depends on the service and the size of your dog. A Full Groom for a small dog takes around 60 minutes, while a large dog can take up to 90 minutes. Bath & Dry is quicker — around 40–60 minutes. We'll give you an arrival window when you book so you know when to expect us.
Do I need to be home during the groom?
Yes, we ask that someone is home while we groom your dog. We'll need you to bring your dog out to the van at the start and collect them when we're done. We'll send you a text when we're on the way and another when your dog is ready.
How often should my dog be groomed?
Most dogs benefit from a professional groom every 6–8 weeks, though this varies by breed and coat type. Curly and wool coats (like Cockapoos and Poodles) may need grooming every 4–6 weeks to prevent matting. We'll recommend a schedule based on your dog's breed and coat at each appointment.
My dog's coat is matted. What happens?
We take matting seriously because it can cause pain and skin damage. When you book, we'll ask about your dog's coat condition. If matting is moderate or severe, we'll explain what to expect before confirming. On the day, we assess the coat and discuss options with you — sometimes dematting is possible, but for severe cases the kindest option is a shorter clip. A surcharge may apply for the extra time needed.
Can you groom puppies?
Yes! We offer a Puppy's First Groom for dogs from 12 weeks old (once they've had their vaccinations). It's a gentle introduction — a mini bath, light trim, nail clip, and lots of positive reinforcement. Getting puppies used to grooming early makes it much easier as they grow.
What if my dog is nervous or anxious?
Mobile grooming is actually brilliant for nervous dogs. There are no other dogs around, no strange smells, and no car journey. Your dog is groomed one-to-one in a quiet, calm environment right outside home. We go at your dog's pace and take breaks if needed. We note any anxieties on your dog's profile so we're prepared every visit.
What happens if you have a breakdown or can't make it?
It's rare, but it can happen. If we have a breakdown or need to cancel due to severe weather, we'll text you straight away, refund any deposit, and rebook you as a priority. We may also send you a discount code for the inconvenience.
Do you have DBS checks and insurance?
Yes. All our groomers are DBS checked and verified. We carry £5 million public liability insurance. We're also City & Guilds Level 3 qualified and Canine First Aid certified. Your dog is in safe, professional hands.
How do I pay?
Payment is taken online when you book. We accept all major debit and credit cards via Stripe. If you have a gift voucher or referral credit, you can apply it at checkout.
Can I book two dogs at the same visit?
Yes! If you have two dogs at the same address, you can add a second dog when booking and receive a multi-dog discount. Each dog is groomed one at a time, so the appointment will be longer, but you only need one visit.
